Mated Queen Bees
California Mated VSH Queens - Marked - Available last week of March or first week in April
We are taking pre-orders for queens for pickup from the store. These VSH California Queens will be available during the last week in March or the first week in April. The delivery date is based on the weather. When we get closer to the date, we will email you to let you know when the queens are available for pickup.
All of the California mated VSH queens will be marked.
NOTE: All queens should be picked up within 7 days of ordering or on their pickup date if preordering. They cannot be guaranteed after 7 days. Remember that these are live animals.

A mated queen can make splitting a hive much easier during the spring or the fall. Installing a mated queen into a queenless hive can save your colony or increase your apiary size. Requeening in the fall is a huge benefit to your colonies when spring comes.
Alabama Queens - These queens are mated in Alabama. The Italian bees are docile and a favorite choice of both commercial and beginner beekeepers. Italians have a long brood cycle that is great for areas with plentiful forage and shorter winters. Italian queens brood up quickly in the spring, making them popular for most beekeepers. They tend to be low to moderate propolis producers. Italian bees are excellent honey producers.
VSH Italian Queens from California - These queens are brought in from California through a favorite queen breeder of ours who has been in the queen business since the 70's. They have a great reputation for high-quality queens. These mated queens arrive in a JZBZ cage. These queens are bred for their natural ability to detect and remove varroa mites from capped cells. VSH stands for Varroa Sensitive Hygiene.
VSH Italian Pol-Line From Florida - Brought in from central Florida, this Italian line of queens is bred with the popular Pol-Line and their genetic traits. These queens are daughters of breeding queens from South Carolina and the USDA Queen Breeding Program. Read more about Pol-Line queens here.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. The order will also need to have been placed through our retail store or through www.foxhoundbeecompany.com
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us within 7 days if the item is defective or damaged or if you received the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items, clearance items, food, or gift cards.
Exchanges
For exchanges, we are happy to receive products back in new, unused condition, and we can exchange them. Products are inspected upon return prior to shipping out the exchanged item. Products received in new condition and exchanged for store credit or another item are not charged the 3% restocking fee.
For returns, it is always helpful to leave a short note with the return for staff so they can easily follow up on where the return came from, the product you want to exchange it for, or the reason for the return.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded using your original payment method. Please remember that it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund, too.
When a return is issued, it is subject to a 3% restocking fee based on the credit card fees charged to us during the initial payment. We charge this fee and do not refund it when we issue customer refunds. This 3% restocking fee covers the credit card expense. The restocking fee is charged to all returns unless the return is due to an error by us.
You can avoid the restocking fee by getting a refund in the form of store credit.
Unauthorized returns or products returned used or in an unsellable condition can either be sent back at the customer's expense, accepted with a restocking fee up to 90% at our discretion, or disposed of.
European Union 14-day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
