Hive Butler Uncapping Tank
The Hive Butler Swarm and Uncapping Tank is your perfect uncapping solution, designed to streamline honey uncapping. Ideal for the small scale beekeeper, this versatile kit ensures efficient honey collection and processing, making it an essential tool for both hobbyists and professional beekeepers. Plus, it works great for collecting swarms, storing drawn combs, and more.
The tote has slots to securely hold 10 deep, medium or shallow frames securely to avoid shifting or falling over.
What's Included in the Kit: Honey Frame
-
1 Solid Bottom Tote with Honey Valve Hole: Ensures easy and controlled honey drainage, minimizing mess and waste. It includes a honey gate, which functions as a valve to allow honey to flow out while keeping bees inside the hive. It can double as a bottling bucket.
-
1 Durable Honey Valve: Allows precise control over honey flow, reducing spillage and improving efficiency.
-
1 Open Bottom Tote: This multipurpose uncapping tub is made of heavy-duty, quarter-inch-thick polyethylene, designed for honey harvesting, storage, and bottling. It includes features such as a honey gate, grid, and lid, and is specifically designed and produced as a food-grade uncapping tub.
-
1 Perforated Screen: Efficiently separates capping wax from honey, ensuring pure, high-quality honey collection. Keeping your uncapping process efficient.
-
1 Solid Lid: Keeps the contents secure and clean, protecting your honey from contaminants and keeping the honey smell in to prevent bees from finding it.
-
Frame Rest: Includes a medium frame with a stainless steel screw to allow for easy pivoting and uncapping of frames.
-
Wooden Crossbar: Holds the honey frame in place during uncapping, making the process easier and less messy. It is practical and useful for beekeepers, especially during the honey harvesting process.

Additional Uses: Using the solid bottom tote and the included solid lid, it can be used when inspecting a colony for holding frames safely while outside the hive. It can also be used as a place to hold frames when harvesting frames of honey from the box prior to extracting.
Usage Instructions for Honey Harvest
-
Setup: Place the solid bottom tote on a stable surface and attach the honey valve. Position the open bottom tote on top and place the perforated screen inside. Place the uncapping frame in a slot and close the honey valve.
-
Extracting Honey: Uncap the honeycomb frames and place each honey frame in the tank. Allow the honey to drain through the screen into the bottom tote while preparing other honey frames for the extractor. As the cappings fall off, the honey drips down into the tank. Place the uncapped frames in the tank to keep the process organized and efficient.
-
Draining Honey: Transfer honey into your storage containers using the honey valve. Collect the wax cappings for further processing of beeswax. The tank facilitates the honey harvest by making the process easier and less messy.
-
Maintenance: Clean the uncapping tub thoroughly with hot water and soap after each use to maintain hygiene and prolong its lifespan. Proper maintenance is crucial for an efficient extraction process and to ensure the quality of your honey.
