Deep Beeswax Foundation - Wired With Hooks - 8 3/8-inch

$20.49 USD
Pack

This 100% pure beeswax foundation with vertical wires for added stability. It is best to cross-wire in your frame as well for extra support, but it isn't completely necessary for medium frames. The wire on the foundation "with hooks" extends past the top of the wax so it can be placed under the "wedge" piece of your frame to help hold it up.

100% beeswax foundation is preferred by honey bees compared to some other foundations, but they can be difficult to install as they require more time and tools to install into the frame well. As an alternative to wax foundation, we have a double waxed plastic foundation which is a great happy medium between what bees like and what beekeepers like.

Cell size: 5.4mm

Dimensions: 8-1/2 in. x 16-3/4 in

Wax Content: 2.2 oz Capping Wax

Best when used with a wedged top bar and split bottom bar and a deep box. These will fit in both 10 or 8 frame medium boxes but not in deep boxes.

Fits deep, Wedge Top/Split Bottom Bar Frames

Has 10 vertically embedded brass wires for support

Has hooks that go behind the wedge in the top bar of the frame

Compatible with these frames.

See all our other tools for installing these frames by clicking here.

Note: Wax becomes very brittle during freezing weather and may be held for unfavorable weather conditions. Buying wax when temperatures are below 32° is at the buyers risk.
